With the acquisition by National Lumber of the former Coldwell’s lumberyard and Arborway kitchen showroom at 25 Central St in Berlin, the small town tradition of family-owned and operated business will continue to thrive.
The former employees of Coldwell’s have been welcomed into the National Lumber family, providing continuity of personal service to their customers. A few new faces will join this location as National Lumber brings in its full range of services.
Customers of this long established lumberyard in central Massachusetts will enjoy the continued family-owned atmosphere. Benjamin Moore Paints will continue to be sold since National Lumber is already a longtime dealer of this premium paint line.
The greater buying power of National Lumber will also provide better prices and broader variety. Contractors will be pleased by the additional products and services made available by the National Lumber Family of Companies, which includes Reliable Truss and Components, National Millwork and Kitchen Views. New inventory arrived for the busy spring building season, while property maintenance and upgrades will be seen over the next few months.
National Lumber’s growth into central Massachusetts has been accomplished through careful and measured planning, which is the foundation of their success as the largest independent building materials supplier in New England . In January 2006, National Lumber opened a temporary satellite office in Sutton as they began their expansion into this growing market. Outside sales staff used the office as a home base while serving contractor customers in the region. With the focus always on providing exceptional customer service with value-added product offerings and dependable deliveries, the search began for a full lumberyard location. Having easy access to Route 495 and a long established tradition of quality products and services made the purchase of Coldwell’s the logical step.
Since 1934 this family owned and operated company has been serving builders and homeowners throughout New England . Now in their third generation, National Lumber is led by co-CEO siblings Steven Kaitz and Margie Kaitz Seligman, company president Manny Pina, and all overseen by the chairman, Lou Kaitz. With six lumberyards, Reliable Truss and Components division, National Millwork division with in-house custom millwork shop and seven Kitchen Views showrooms, National Lumber is ready to provide your building materials and services solutions.
